Fourth of July Celebrations

Vendors and citizens came back on July 5th to enjoy the fireworks that had been postponed on Saturday, offering a free event on Sunday night at Reaves Park on campus.

The fireworks were postponed on Saturday due to inclement weather according to officer Teddy Wilson of the Norman Police Department. They were rescheduled for Sunday at 9:30 p.m.

"We had to pay our employees for another night of work, but the rescheduling really hasn't hurt business too much," said Amanda Rutledge, a manager at the Dippin' Dots booth that returned on Sunday night.

Other city of Norman events can be found at the city calendar website here: http://www.ci.norman.ok.us/Calendar/default.htm.
