OU Librarian Also Artisan
A University of Oklahoma Librarian has started a business as a jewelry maker; her pieces are available online and at arts and craft shows in Norman and Oklahoma City.
Kelly Thompson, who has started the company Accessories by Kelly, has turned her love of jewelry making into a profitable side job, and she enjoys seeing students at the arts and crafts shows where she exhibits. She has participated in Deluxe and will be showing soon at the Dustbowl Arts Market on campus corner among others.
"I just started making too much to give it all away, so I decided to start selling it," said Thompson, discussing how she decided to go into business for herself.
Students interested in buying her work can visit her at Dustbowl Arts Market on August 29th, or buy her work online at accessoriesbykelly.etsy.com.
