Rockabilly Legend Wanda Jackson Performs Free Concert in Norman
Singer Wanda Jackson performed a free concert at Andrews Park in Norman on Sunday as part of the Performing Arts Studio Summer Breeze concert series, offering a free show for students and citizens, according to Stephen White, the chairman of the Summer Breeze series.
Wanda Jackson is known by fans as the Queen of Rockabilly; she was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and toured with Elvis, according to her Web site at www.wandajackson.com. The Summer Breeze concert series promotes the Performing Art Studios, which work with various art projects in Norman and Oklahoma City. The University of Oklahoma assists the Performing Arts Studio occasionally, according to White.
